Finance and Audit Committee (FAC) Meeting
Central Co-op owners are welcome to attend the Board of Trustees' Finance and Audit Committee (FAC) meeting, 6:00 p.m. at the Co-op's Community Space, 1900 E Madison Street, corner of 19th Avenue.
Central Co-op committees are working groups made up of owners, workers, and trustees who look into potential policies and develop policy recommendations. Prior experience can help your participation, but what's necessary is just interest, thoughtfulness, and engagement.
The FAC makes recommendations to the board on the best use of Co-op assets. It does so by monitoring present performance and proposing budgets for a future development. The FAC serves as a resource on finance and control systems developments.
The committee reviews detailed monthly financial reports, and at the Board of Trustees' regular meetings reports on basic financial figures, highlights matters it believes merit the full Board's attention, and may recommend policy changes. The FAC serves as the forum for detailed review of the annual operating and capital budgets. During the annual budget process, the committee also provides a recommendation to the Board concerning the budget lines directly relating to Board operations. The FAC also arranges the annual audit or review, and makes a recommendation to the board for or against acceptance of said audit or review.

Director in attendance! Central Co-op members receive a discounted ticket price of $6.
Within Reach documents one couple’s pedal-powered journey across the United States in search of a new home in a sustainable community. Mandy and Ryan have given up their corporate jobs and their traditional houses to "bike-pack" thousands of miles around the USA, looking around the world as they look within themselves.
Their journey and their film attempts to answer the question that they (and many others) are asking: Is it possible for all of us to live in a sustainable way? After circling the country, and talking with over 20,000 people, the Creightons have found that not only is it possible: it's already underway.
